“Staff missing pupils at schools across the region have been sending video messages to youngsters during the coronavirus lockdown – and Brookes School, in Risby, has joined in the fun.

It has released a video compilation to Elton John’s I’m Still Standing’ featuring messages from staff.

Graham Ellis, principal, said the film was the brainchild of music teacher Corinna Gawthrop, who wanted to let children know they were missed and to say thank you to the NHS staff and key workers doing ‘such an exceptional and courageous job’.
