Brookes Westshore Students Embark on UK Adventure
At Brookes, fostering connectivity and forging meaningful relationships stand as cornerstone values within our school network.
In late April, a cohort of students and teachers hailing from Brookes Westshore in Canada embarked on an exciting journey to the UK, immersing themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Brookes UK.
For many of our students, this marked their first trip to England. Only 30 minutes away from Cambridge, the students embarked on a picturesque countryside tour, which included visits to Stratford upon Avon and Shakespeare’s Birthplace, the historic Warwick Castle built by William the Conqueror over a thousand years ago, and a walking tour through Oxford, with visits to colleges where so much of the filming of Harry Potter and Wonka took place.
The trip also included an enriching excursion to Cambridge to marvel at the grandeur of Kings College and its awe-inspiring chapel, followed by some action at an indoor climbing center, Clip ‘n’ Climb, and an exploration of the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, home to iconic aircraft such as Concorde and the Spitfire.
A pinnacle of the experience unfolded during the three-day trip to London, where students encountered a blend of rain showers and sunshine. Their itinerary featured iconic landmarks such as the Tower of London and the London Dungeon, alongside indulgent retail therapy along Oxford Street, Carnaby Street, and Covent Garden. They witnessed the pomp and grandeur of the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace and culminated their adventure with a captivating theatrical performance of ‘Back to the Future.’
A wonderful Spring Break, we look forward to the next global connections trip!
